Kathmandu, September 5
The Constitutional Council has named Navin Kumar Ghimire for the post of Chief Commissioner of Nepal’s anti-corruption watchdog CIAA.
A meeting of the council on Wednesday decided to name Ghimire to the post. Ghimire succeeds Deep Kumar Basnyat, who retried in February. Ghimire, the senior-most CIAA commissioner, is currently the acting chief of the constitutional body.
Ghimire will now face a hearing conducted by a parliamentary committee, before being appointed to the post by President Bhandari.
