Biratamod shut to protest murder

Gold and silver dealers have enforced a shutdown in Birtamod Bazar to protest the killing of a goldsmith, Sajan Mukhiya.

Mukhia, who had been missing since March 4, was found dead on Monday.

His body was found at Kolbung of Rong Rural Municipality-3 in the neighbouring district of Ilam. Police have arrested three people in connection with the murder. Area Police Office Birtamod said the identities of suspects will be made public only after police finish the investigations.
