Kathmandu, August 21
A 22-year-old youth has died after being seriously injured in a fight at a hostel in Shankhamul, Kathmandu.
The deceased has been identified as Basanta Kalathoki of Ghorahi Sub-Metropolitan City-17, Dang. He was staying at Valley Boys Hostel in Shankhamul, Kathmandu Metropolitan City-10.
According to police, Kalathoki was attacked with a sharp weapon and beaten by two fellow hostel residents, 18-year-old Shekhar Yadav of Kalaiya Sub-Metropolitan City-3, Bara, and 20-year-old Pramit Patel.
Kalathoki sustained serious injuries to his head and neck in the incident.
He was rushed to the Civil Service Hospital in Minbhawan for treatment. Police said doctors declared him dead during treatment.
Police have arrested Yadav and are investigating the incident.
Patel, however, is currently absconding. Police said a search is underway to locate him and further investigation into the incident is continuing.
