Display and design
In comparison, Xiaomi 13 Pro is designed differently from the last year’s Xiaomi 12 pro. The camera design on the back has been changed and the Leica branding that was sideways is now below the camera. The curved slick design on the phone looks pleasing and well to handle too. The aluminium joining the back and the front of it is ceramic and makes it more glossy and clean.
Xiaomi 13 Pro has a 6.67-inch curved WQHD+ AMOLED display, which has a peak brightness of 1900 nits. It has a resolution of 3200 X 1440 pixels and an aspect ratio of 20:9. Its display delivers a maximum refresh rate of 120Hz and a touch sampling rate of up to 240Hz. It can display over 1 billion colours and has a colour gamut of DCI-PC3. It is protected with the help of Corning Gorilla Glass Victus and has an IP68 rating for splash, water and dust resistance.
Performance and storage
Xiaomi 13 Pro is based on the latest flagship processor from Qualcomm, the Snapdragon® 8 Gen 2 Mobile Platform. The operating system on it is Xiaomi’s MIUI 14 based on Android 13. It has Adreno 740 as its GPU, based on Arm’s Immortalis GPU.
The RAM on it is in two variants: 8GB and 12GB. The storage options are paired with the two variants of RAM; 8/128GB, 8/256GB, 12/256GB and 12/512GB. However, only the 12/256GB variant may be available for Nepal.
The most hyped thing about Xiaomi 13 Pro is the camera and the one-inch sensor along with the collaboration with Leica. The rear camera includes a triple camera setup with a 50MP Sony IMX989 1-inch sensor, a 50MP telephoto camera and a 50MP Ultra-wide camera. The rear camera along with the Leica branding and the two different modes, the Leica vibrant and Leica authentic clicks the photo according to your choice.
Xiaomi 13 Pro also includes a lot of different modes for photography such as Xiaomi ProFocus (motion tracking focus/eye tracking focus/motion capture), lightning burst, night mode (wide/ultra-wide/telephoto), portrait, night mode, digital zoom up to 70x, HDR, 50MP mode (wide/ultra-wide/telephoto), supermoon, panorama, documents, clone, long exposure and pro mode. The rear camera also includes many Leica filters along with the iconic Leica classic shutter sound.
The rear camera can also record good-quality videos. The camera supports 8K video at 24fps, 4K video at 24,30 and 6fps, 1080P video at 30 and 60fps and 720P video at 30fps. It also has HDR video recording with Dolby Vision up to 4K at 60fps. The video recording also has some features such as Xiaomi ProFocus, ultra night video up to 4K at 24fps, vlog mode, video pro mode and slow motion.
The front camera includes a 32MP in-display selfie camera, which has features such as dynamic framing, night mode, HDR and portrait mode with bokeh and depth control. The front camera can record 1080P video at 3fps and 720P video at 30fps.
With such a big branding on the rear camera, Xiaomi should have at least a 4K video recording option for the front camera. The front camera also has vlog mode and is okay for vlogging with the front camera.
Battery and others
Xiaomi 13 Pro has a typical 4820mAh battery, which can last for around a day and a half on regular usage. The battery can be charged using the inbox 120W charger, which can charge it in 19 minutes. The battery can also be wirelessly charged using the 50W wireless turbocharging. The battery also supports 10W reverse wireless charging. The port is a standard USB type-C.
It has LiquidCool Technology (super big VC + multi-layer graphite sheets) as its cooling system and cools the phone pretty well. The sensor on it includes a proximity sensor, ambient light sensor, accelerometer, gyroscope, electronic compass, linear motor, IR blaster, barometer and a flicker sensor. It has an in-screen fingerprint sensor and AI face unlock for security.
It is available in two colours: ceramic white and ceramic black.
The price of the Xiaomi 13 pro in Nepal is fixed at Rs 129,999 for the 12/256GB variant.
