The main opposition party, Nepali Congress, has commented that a big question mark hangs over the government physical and intellectual existence as it has recently decided not to bear the cost of Covid-19 treatment of its citizens.

A day after the decision was made public, the opposition party’s spokesperson Bishwa Prakash Sharma issued a statement on Monday to say that the people were in an illusion that there was a government, but the recent decision showed the government was motivated to end this illusion.

Citing a recent Supreme Court order has told the government to ensure free coronavirus tests, Sharma says the government’s decision to withdraw from the costly treatment also raised a question over who the government would listen to it would not heed suggestions of the court, media, and the public.

Terming the decision as irresponsible, Sharma has urged Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli to ensure free coronavirus tests and treatment for the public.
