Kathmandu, December 31

An influential Nepali Congress leader, Prakash Man Singh, has said the Ram Chandra Paudel-led faction is determined to continue its struggle against the party president Sher Bahadur Deuba’s unilateral manner.

The faction is angry with Deuba as he endorsed a proposal about fixing the dates for the party’s 14th general convention from the central working committee with majority votes. Putting forth various demands, leaders of the rival camp including Paudel, Singh, Shashanka Koirala, Shekhar Koirala and Krishna Prasad Sitaula had boycotted the meeting.

Speaking with journalists at his residence in Kathmandu on Tuesday, Singh said they would continue boycotting the meeting unless Deuba corrected the decision. “We will see if the majority can do everything,” he said, “We will not go to the central committee meeting, we will not cooperate and we will force them to correct the decision through political and democratic means.”

He also expressed that the rival camp should prepare a strong team to fight against Deuba.
