The final week of 2024 promises excitement for OTT viewers as Netflix’s much-anticipated survival series Squid Game Season 2 premieres. The first season remains unmatched in viewership to date.

Squid Game Season 2
The 2021 global sensation returns after three years. The story resumes with Seong Gi-hun, who re-enters the deadly competition three years after his victory. This time, he fights against the sinister organization behind the games. Joining him are new participants, including Im Si-wan, Kang Ha-neul, Park Sung-hoon, and Yang Dong-geun. The prize for surviving the horrifying game is 45.6 billion won (approx. INR 266 crore).
The series releases on Netflix on December 26.
Khoj: Parchhayiyon Ke Us Paar
This Hindi web series follows Ved (Sharib Hashmi) as he searches for his mysteriously missing wife, Meera. The story takes a twist with the arrival of Anupriya Goenka’s character, who everyone insists is Meera. Ved must navigate between reality and illusion to uncover the truth.
The series streams on Zee5 from December 27.
Doctors
A Hindi medical drama set in the prestigious Elizabeth Blackwell Medical Center in Mumbai, this series stars Sharad Kelkar, Harleen Sethi, Aamir Ali, Viraf Patel, and Vivaan Shah. It follows Dr. Nitya Vasu (Harleen Sethi), an ambitious surgical resident, as she clashes with renowned neurosurgeon Dr. Ishan Ahuja (Sharad Kelkar), whom she blames for her brother’s downfall. As they work together, the story explores ambition, love, and betrayal amidst medical emergencies.

Gladiator 2
Fans of Gladiator have been eagerly awaiting its sequel. Set years after Maximus’s death, the story focuses on Lucius, whose home is seized by a powerful Roman emperor. To reclaim his life, Lucius must enter the Colosseum. The cast includes Paul Mescal, Pedro Pascal, Joseph Quinn, and Denzel Washington.
After its theatrical release in November, the film will be available on Prime Video from December 23.
Origin
Directed by Oscar-nominated filmmaker Ava DuVernay, this biographical drama is based on Isabel Wilkerson’s book Caste: The Origins of Our Discontents. It explores themes of racial inequality and caste divisions, with Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor portraying Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Isabel Wilkerson. The film also stars Jon Bernthal, Niecy Nash, and Vera Farmiga.
