We have not proposed Dahal to become premier with our support: Congress spokesperson

Nepali Congress spokesperson Bishwa Prakash Sharma

Kathmandu, January 14

Nepali Congress spokesperson Bishwa Prakash Sharma says his party has not proposed CPN-Maoist Centre Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal to become the prime minister with his party’s support.

He says the party has not proposed anyone of late to become the prime minister.

Sharma also refutes charges that the party is working to break the alliance between CPN-UML and CPN-Maoist Centre.

“We extend our best wishes for their unification,” Sharma said while speaking at a function in Kathmandu today.

“Our party always accepts people’s mandate; be it to run the government or to take the opposition side,” he said, “I have heard from media that the party is working to break the new alliance or proposing someone to become the minister. But, I do not know anything officially. Our party has not formally discussed or decided anything about these issues.”

Meanwhile, Sharma informed that his party would call a Central Working Committee meeting very soon and it would decide to organise a Mahasamiti meeting to reform the party organisation.
