Vatsalya EWV ready to showcase world-class women’s volleyball in Pokhara

Kathmandu, August 19

The Vatsalya Everest Women’s Volleyball League (EWV) has announced Pokhara’s Multi-purpose Covered Hall as the official venue for its second edition, scheduled to take place from September 5 to September 13.

The confirmation has been formally sanctioned by the Nepal Sports Council under the Government of Nepal, with the information also shared with the Nepal Volleyball Association.

Pokhara, renowned for its natural beauty and reputation as Nepal’s leading tourist destination, has a deep-rooted passion for volleyball. The city’s vibrant sports culture and enthusiastic supporters make it an ideal host for this groundbreaking women’s volleyball league.

The decision to bring the league to Pokhara reflects Vatsalya EWV’s vision of decentralising the tournament and establishing it as a traveling sporting property. This strategy not only promotes sports tourism but also inspires aspiring volleyball players by giving them access to world-class matches, while contributing to the local economy through employment in event operations, hospitality, and related services.

The second edition in Pokhara aligns with Vatsalya EWV’s mission to provide opportunities for athletes, engage communities, and strengthen Nepal’s profile as a destination for sports-based events.

This year’s tournament will feature six competitive franchise teams comprising 54 Nepali players and 18 international athletes. Tiktok will serve as the official entertainment partner, driving mass promotion, fan engagement programs, and ensuring the matches are broadcast both nationally and internationally.
