UWS Nepal

Kathmandu, September 1

United World School Nepal has announced the opening of applications for the 8th cohort of its Teaching Fellowship Program.

According to UWS Nepal,  “This fellowship Program, launched in 2017, was conceived to address a critical educational gap in rural Nepal: the severe shortage of qualified teachers, especially in Mathematics and English.”

Issuing the release on Sunday UWS has stated that, over the past seven years, their fellows have played a transformative role in enhancing student performance and cultivating a vibrant culture of learning and community engagement.

“With over 2,000 applications received to date,  they have carefully selected and placed 56 exceptional fellows,” reads the release. “The fellowship has become a leading initiative with local governments, driving innovation and accountability in schools in Sankhuwasabha, Gulmi, Taplejung, and Bhojpur.”

Currently, UWS is collaborating with 22 municipalities and 78 schools, reaching over 14,000 children through primary education.

Fellows will receive a monthly stipend along with accommodation and food allowances. The additional benefits include travel allowances for six trips per year, national and International exposure, career opportunities,  and support for further education, including scholarship opportunities, and accidental and medical insurance coverage.
