Two killed in Syangja ambulance crash

Kathmandu, August 30

Two persons have died when an ambulance crashed in Syangja of the Gandaki province in the wee hours of Sunday. Two others have sustained injuries in the incident.

The ambulance (Ba 2 Jha 4011) crashed at Majhkot, Waling municipality-5 of the district at around 4:15 am today, informs SP Hobindra Bogati, Syangja District Police Office Chief.

The victims have been identified as Bhanu Bhakta Gaire (35) and Shyam Pangeni (22) from Chapakot-9 of the district. Both had breathed their last during treatment at Waling Hospital.

Likewise, Pabitra Gaire (31) from Chapakot-9 and the vehicle driver Surendra Bhandari (25) are injured. They have been sent to Pokhara for further treatment.

The ambulance belonging to Chapakot Hospital had gone to Kathmandu to take a patient. While returning, it had taken three residents of Chapakot-9.

The cause of the accident is not identified yet. Further investigation is underway.
