Butwal, December 5
Two persons died when a jeep fell off the road in Palpa district of Province 5 on Thursday.
The four-wheeler (Lu 1 Ja 4209) fell from Kerabari-Chaubis Mile section of Siddhartha Highway and plunged into a stream.
The victims are yet to be identified.
The vehicle was shattered into pieces after it fell around 500 metres down the road, according to DSP Ram Prasad Shah of the Province 5 Traffic Police Office in Butwal.
He says it is not yet clear how many people were travelling on the jeep. But some believe that the vehicle was returning after maintenance in Butwal. Shah says other factors besides the road conditions might have caused the accident.
