Toastmasters International concluded the INVICTUS 2020, a video speech challenge, and announced winners in its Grand Finale event on Tuesday.
Participant Bijaya Mishra won under the Toastmasters category whereas Rinki Tibrewal won under the Non-Toastmasters category.
The winners got an annual membership of Toastmasters International, a gift hamper worth NRs 30,000 each from Skin Arts Aesthetics, including shopping vouchers for 7 O’Clock Bakery Café, Pulchowk, gift hamper from Mates Premium (for winner under Toastmasters category) and from Chya Pasa (for winner under Non-Toastmasters Category).
Two other minors, Reeva Khanal and Yubragee Dangal were awarded Rising Star Award for their stellar public speaking skills and got a shopping voucher for 7 O’Clock Bakery Café, Pulchowk.
INVICTUS 2020 started in August in which participants were asked to submit a recorded and unedited video speech of two to three minutes on the theme ‘Resilience’. The participants also stayed in two webinars on storytelling and vocal variety conducted by trainers Deepak Sharma and Barbara Quesada. They also received Toastmasters International-curated speech development resources.
“INVICTUS was envisioned with the motive to act as a platform where individual stories of perseverance can be shared such that we all empower each other to remain strong during times of crisis” says the Director of Division O, District 41 of Toastmasters International Toastmaster Avish Acharya.
A panel discussion on ‘Leadership and Communication in Crisis’ with panelists including Moon Pradhan, Bhanu Dabadi, and Avish Acharya who put their thoughts on how effective leadership and communication can help guide the progress in the development, academic and banking sectors.
The programme was broadcasted live from Janata Television HD from 6-7 pm.
