Kathmandu, June 27
Police have arrested three people found in posession of illegal wildlife parts, including the horn of a one-horned rhinoceros in Kathmandu.
According to police, 53-year-old Lal Bahadur Gurung from Gorkha Chumanbri-3 was arrested in Kathmandu-27. According to Metropolitan Police Office, Teku’s DSP Habindra Bogati, 33-year-old Asta Bahadur Thing and 34-year-old Govinda Prasad Moktan were also arrested along with Gurung. “The three men were arrested by our team on Wednesday afternoon,” said Bogati.
Police have found out that the horn was being sold for Rs 5.5 million. The trio has been sent to Kathmandu District Forest Office for investigation.
Meanwhile, police have also arrested two people and seized leopard parts and bones from them. Mishrun Chemjong and Prashanta Das Chemjong were arrested in Mitranagar, Kathmandu.
