Udayapur, April 9
Nepali Congress central leader Shekhar Koirala says the future of his party is at stake owing to extreme factionalism.
Koirala claims he is worried about the future of the party as the key leaders themselves have been parts of one or another faction.
The practice has been expanded up to the grassroots and this has resulted in the weak performance of the party from national to local levels, according to him.
Speaking at a function organised in Gaighat of Udayapur district, Koirala lamented that the party was heading towards a downward journey, forgetting the lessons of its founders including BP Koirala, Ganesh Man Singh, Krishna Prasad Bhattarai and Girija Prasad Koirala.
The leader added that the party’s weakness would result in some crisis in the entire country.
