Kathmandu, April 19
President Bidya Devi Bhandari has appointed Dinesh Kumar Thapaliya as the new Chief Election Commissioner.
According to the President’s Office, Thapaliya was appointed to the post after his nomination was endorsed by Parliament’s Hearing Committee.
Thapaliya, who was nominated to the post by the Constitutional Council, was an incumbent secretary of the government when he was nominated for the job.
