Take Madhesh-centric parties into confidence, announce poll date, RPP tells government

Kathmandu, February 19

Rastriya Prajatantra Pary has demanded that the government announce local level elections without delay by bringing Madhesh-centric parties into an understanding. The closed session of the  party made this demand.

At the ongoing unity convention of the party, registration of candidatures for leadership positions is currently underway. RPP President has already thrown his hat in the ring for party presidency. Pradip Bikram Rana has also registered his candidature for the top leadership. The convention underway at Bhrikuti Mandap has passed the party’s political report with amendments.

The party is in favour of democracy with monarchy, Hindu state and strengthened local autonomous governance.

As per the party’s amended statute, the party central working committee will have 163 members. It will have 27 office-bearers, including president, five vice-presidents, four general secretaries, one treasurer, five joint general secretaries, seven deputy general secretaries, one deputy treasurer, one spokesperson and two joint spokespersons.
