Kathmandu, September 17

A survey officer in Kathmandu has been arrested while taking a bribe.

Dilli Bahadur Wali, chief of Team No. 3 (Machhapokhari) at the Kathmandu Survey Office, Dillibazar, was caught by the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) with Rs 9 lakh in bribe money.

Following a complaint that he was demanding a bribe and unnecessarily harassing a service seeker, a CIAA team took him into custody at a restaurant in Sundhara Chowk, Tokha Municipality-5, right after he had accepted the money, and the investigation is proceeding from there.

The CIAA said that, with permission from the Special Court, the investigation into the bribery and corruption case against Wali has been extended and is moving forward.
