The Supreme Court has received 11 writ petitions against the government decision to dissolve the House of Representatives on Sunday and Monday.

Although the court had received 13 applications, two of them were not registered, according to the court’s spokesperson Bhadra Kali Pokharel.*

The apex court’s communications expert Kishor Paudel says the court will hear all the cases together on Wednesday.

It has been learned that most of the petitioners have demanded the revocation of the decision claiming it is unconstitutional.

Many believe the constitution does not allow the prime minister to dissolve the House unless there is a situation that it cannot elect a PM with the majority support.
