Standard Chartered Bank Nepal launches Banking API

Kathmandu, June 22

The Standard Chartered Bank Nepal has launched the API (application programming interface) banking in Nepal.

The bank claims it will be instrumental in shaping delivery of financial services in the banking industry.

The bank has gone live with the first API banking with one of its global clients in the country. The API connectivity will help bank’s customers to exchange data and integrate their eco-system securely and in real-time, the bank says in a statement on Tuesday.

Michael Siddhi, the bank’s head of transaction banking says, “The future of banking is changing fast with massive technology-led innovations. And, we are delighted to be one of the first banks in Nepal to have launched this capability”.
