Kathmandu, September 1
A 44-member South Korean disaster relief team will arrive in Nepal on Wednesday to assist with search, rescue and relief efforts following the devastating floods.
The Korea Disaster Relief Team (KDRT) includes officials from South Korea’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA), firefighters and other personnel, The Korea Times reported.
The team will depart South Korea on Tuesday night aboard a KC-330 transport aircraft and is scheduled to arrive in Nepal on Wednesday morning.
The team will bring 700 pieces of equipment and five search-and-rescue dogs to support operations in the flood-affected areas.
According to The Korea Times, the team will remain in Nepal for around 10 days to assist with rescue and relief operations.
Nine South Korean nationals remain missing following the floods.
