Snowfall in Bhaktapur after 12 years

Bhaktapur, February 28

Bhaktapur city has witnessed snowfall after 12 years.

Various areas in the Kathmandu Valley, including Bhaktapur, have seen snowfall since this morning.

Normal life has been affected with snowfall at Nagarkot, Changunarayan, Sudal, Tathali, Chittapol, Nakhel, Sipadi, Nalinchok, Gundu, Ranikot and Ghyampedanda of Bhaktapur.

The snowfall also occurred in urban areas of Bhaktapur, Madhyapur Thimi, Changunarayan and Suryabinayak.

Kathmandu and Lalitpur of the Valley also saw snowfall this time.

Transportation services have not been smoothly operational in touristic areas of Bhaktapur district including Nagarkot, Sudal and Ranikot due to the snowfall.

Som Sharma Bajgain, a local of Telkot, shared that the vehicular service en route to Nagarkot via Bhaktapur has been disrupted due to the snowfall since early morning today.

However, the inflow of domestic tourists to the snow-covered areas, including Nagarkot, has gone up and is expected to rise during the day today, said Gokul Lamichhane, a hotel entrepreneur.
