Six goats taken for grazing were found dead in a community forest in Lamahi Municipality, Deukhuri, Dang. The goat owner said the animals had been killed in a leopard attack.
Raghubir Khatri, a resident of Narayanpur in Ward 3 of Lamahi Municipality, had taken nine goats to Narayanishwar Community Forest for grazing on Tuesday morning.
Khatri said six of the goats were found dead, reportedly killed by a leopard, while the remaining three were missing.
Amid increasing wild animal activity in various community forests in the Deukhuri area in recent times, the Division Forest Office, Dang Deukhuri, has urged residents to remain cautious.
The office has also advised people not to enter forest areas indiscriminately and to avoid taking livestock into the forests for grazing unnecessarily.
