Nepali brand Yatri has launched its new electric scooter, the Yatri P-2, designed and manufactured in Nepal.
Sipradi Trading colaborated with Yatri to introduced the P-2 with three battery options: 5.2 kWh, 3.7 kWh and 3 kWh.
According to the company, the 5.2 kWh model can travel up to 157 km on a full charge. The 3.7 kWh version offers a range of up to 112 km, while the 3 kWh model can travel up to 90 km.
DC fast charging
One of the key features of the P-2 is support for DC fast charging.
Sipradi Yatri said it plans to install DC chargers at 35 locations across the country. The P-2 supports a 3.3 kW DC charger, which the company expects will make charging more convenient for customers travelling longer distances.
Android Auto and Apple CarPlay
The P-2 comes with several smart features, including support for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
It also features a real-time energy meter and a smart display.
The P-2 was tested in different geographical and road conditions across Nepal before being launched.
The company said the scooter was tested in areas including Jiri, Kathmandu, Mulkot, Katari, Bharatpur and Waling, covering routes from the plains to hilly and difficult roads.
The P-2 has been developed through a partnership between Sipradi Trading and Yatri Motorcycles. The company says the scooter has been designed, engineered and manufactured in Nepal.
Sipradi Yatri plans to invest around Rs 600 million in the production plant for the P-2 and aims to produce up to 50,000 units annually.
