Shooting has begun for ‘Kaleji Oonko Sweater’, which is being made as the sequel to last year’s Nepali film ‘Oonko Sweater’. Director Nabin Chauhan launched the shoot in the Yumthang Valley in Sikkim.
Director Chauhan announced that shooting has started. According to him, local lama gurus performed an auspicious ceremony with mantra chanting before the shoot began. He said scenes with actors Piyush Mishra and Alex Paras were filmed on Monday, the first day.
The shoot’s launch was attended by Tashi Tshering Bhutia, chairman of the Sikkim Film Board, Sanjay Dilpali Rai, chairman of the Cultural Board, an ADC, representatives of the Indian Army, and local lama gurus. On the occasion, Director Chauhan expressed gratitude for the support and blessings he received.
Director Chauhan said ‘Kaleji Oonko Sweater’ is being made as an effort to connect the stories, characters and feelings ‘Oonko Sweater’ left in the audience’s hearts to a wider world. According to him, alongside the stories of Kafle, Phool, Dambar and Iksha, the new film will present further dimensions of love, life and human sensitivity.
“Some stories remain, and some feelings are yet to be told,” Director Chauhan said.
The film is going ahead with plans to shoot in Nepal, Darjeeling, Sikkim and Delhi, and is expected to extend the stories and characters connected to ‘Oonko Sweater’ into a new setting.
The film, produced by Artmandu, is being written and directed by Nabin Chauhan. Abhishek Subedi is co-writer and chief assistant director, while Chintan Rajbhandari handles cinematography. The music is by Kovid Bajra.
The cast includes Bipin Karki, Miruna Magar, Piyush Mishra, Alex Paras, Pariksha Limbu, Teria Magar, Suraj Tamu, Sharada Devi Silwal, Bhuwan Singh Rai and Rushma Rai.
