Server down at Lumbini zonal transport office, service-seekers bearing the brunt of disruption

Tilottama (Rupandehi), January 23

The server of Transport Management Department’s Lumbini zonal office has broken down.  With the server offline for a week, service-seekers are bearing the brunt.

Last Sunday, the office issued a notice informing that it will not be able to perform tasks such as licence issuance, renewal and data entry as the server has crashed.

The office informed that it will not be able to perform tasks like revenue collection, registration and licence renewal as the server is connected to the Central Data Bank. The disruption has affected service-seekers from remote parts of Lumbini zone the most. Office chief Bed Prasad Aryal said they have not been able to perform any task as the server has stopped working. We have sent the server to the department (Department of Transport Management) for repair work, he said, adding that maintenance will take some days more.

The outlet especially caters to six districts of Lumbini. With the server not working, service-seekers have no option but to return from the office without getting their works done.

The office informed it caters to 1,000-1,200 customers on an average working day.
