Kathmandu, February 6
Senior economist Dr Meena Acharya has passed away. According to family sources, she died on Thursday evening.
Acharya was a researcher and author of Status of Women in Nepal and also played an active role as a women’s rights advocate. She had served as an advisor to former President Bidya Devi Bhandari.
Her final rites are being performed today, Friday, at Pashupati Aryaghat.
