The second meeting of Nepal-India Eminent Persons’ Group to review bilateral relations to start in New Delhi tomorrow.

Nepali members of the group Bhesh Bahadur Thapa, Nialamber Acharya, Rajan Bhattara and Suryanath Upadhyay left for the Indian capital earlier today to attend the two-day meeting.

The first meeting of the EPG took place in Kathmandu in July this year.

The Indian side comprises lawmaker Bhagat Singh Kosiyari as coordinator and former ambassador Jayanta Prasad, Professor BC Upreti and Professor Mahendra P Lama as members.

As per the mandate, the two sides will have to prepare and submit a joint document to their respective governments following their tenure of two years.

Nepal and India had agreed to constitute an EPG during Nepal Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai’s India visit (October 20-23, 2011). During India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Nepal visit on July 2, 2014, Nepal and India had agreed on forming an EPG comprising four members each.
