Janakpurdham, August 31
The chairman of one ward of the Brahmapuri rural municipality of the Sarlahi district in southeastern Nepal has been accused of attempted rape.
A local filed a complaint against Shyam Kumar Yadav, the chairman of Brahmapuri-7, informs Inspector Krishna Giri at the District Police Office.
According to the alleged survivor, the local leader came to her house on August 21 night and attempted rape.
Meanwhile, Yadav is incommunicado after the report has been filed. Giri says police have launched a search mission and further investigation is underway.
