Sarlahi fire incidents kill 3

Three persons died in two fire incidents in different places of the Sarlahi district recently. One person has sustained injuries.

Two children died as a thatched house belonging to Jogi Mahara, a resident of Sirsiya, Kabilasi municipality-7 of the district, caught fire following a short circuit. The victims have been identified as Chamar’s daughters Laxmi Kumari (8) and Sogandhi Kumari (3), informs DSP Madhav Prasad Budhathoki, the District Police Office.

Seriously injured in the incident, the kids were taken to the Malangawa-based District Hospital, which referred them to Kathmandu. But, both died on their way to the capital, according to police.

Meanwhile, five-year-old Sudha Kumari, the sister of the victims, was injured, but she has been already discharged from a local health centre.

In another fire incident in the district, Nasir Khan (70), a resident of Khutauna, Malangawa municipality-6 of the district, died while he was keeping himself warm by the fire.

Police had rescued him injured but died in the course of treatment at the District Hospital, police say.
