Kathmandu, March 7
The Ministry of Home Affairs has recalled Saptari’s Chief District Officer and heads of security forces, a day after three people were killed in police firing in Rajbiraj.
CDO Uddab Prasad Timsina, SP Diwesh Lohani, DSP Dan Bahadur Khadka and APF SP Jaya Bahadur Khadka have been told to repot tto the ministry at the earliest.
Home Minister Bimalendra Nidhi, meanwhile, summoned chiefs of security forces in Kathmandu and instructed them to brief him on the situation in Saptari, where tension still runs high. Nidhi ordred the security officials to refrain from using force.
During the one-and-a-half hour meeting, Nepal Police Acting IG Dinesh Chandra Pokhrel, APF IG Singha Bahadur Shrestha, National Investigation Agency chief Dileep Regmi and other offficials briefed Nidhi on the situation.
