Rhino attack kills man in Chitwan

Chitwan, May 21

A person died when a rhino attacked him in the Chitwan district on Saturday morning.

The deceased has been identified as Jhalak Raj Poudel (60) of Bharatpur metropolitan city-17, according to the District Police Office.

The rhino attacked Poudel when he was working at his house and he died in the course of treatment at the Bharatpur Hospital.

Similarly, a local Tanka Nath Regmi, 57, was injured in the attack. Regmi has already returned home after treatment of his minor injury, say police.

The biggest part of the Chitwan National Park, the biggest natural habitat of one-horned rhinoceros in Nepal, lies in the district.
