Actress Rekha Thapa and actor Bipin Karki are celebrating their birthdays on the same day, Friday. Both are well-known and popular figures in the Nepali film industry.
Born in Salakpur, Morang, Thapa has appeared in more than 100 films during her career. Besides acting, she is also a producer and director. She is also known for her involvement in politics.
Thapa, a leader of the Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP), has also contested parliamentary elections. Alongside her political career, she has continued to pursue her film career. Thapa is credited with helping establish the trend of actresses becoming major stars in the Nepali film industry.
Actor Bipin Karki is known for his ability to balance both commercial and art-house films. Having won audiences over with his powerful performances, he has appeared in nearly 30 films.
Karki has recently expanded his work beyond acting and has become involved in film equipment and production businesses.
