Former Prime Minister and NCP senior leader Madhav Kumar Nepal says erstwhile UML vice-chairs Bhim Rawal and Asta Laxmi Shakya should also be given a seat on the new party’s secretariat.
Nepal, who was speaking at a programme in Dhangadhi, said that the two leaders held important positions in the UML party and they should not be left out from the secretariat. “If we bring them on board, we will also ensure the representation of the Far-west and women,” he said. “It does not matter if the number of members reaches 15,” he said.
Meanwhile, he said that he does not oppose the MCC compact with the US, but Nepal should be clear if it was part of a military alliance. We can accept the money only if it is just economic assistance.”
