Rasuwa flood: 403 tourists remain unaccounted for, says NTB

A total of 403 tourists remain unaccounted for following the devastating Rasuwa floods, according to the Nepal Tourism Board.

The board said 341 foreign tourists and 62 Nepali tourists are currently reported missing. Of the total, 203 are men and 200 are women.

Indian nationals make up the largest group of foreign tourists reported missing, with 133 people.

The breakdown by nationality is:

  • India: 133
  • United States: 47
  • Australia: 34
  • United Kingdom: 33
  • Canada: 24
  • Malaysia: 19
  • Ukraine: 7
  • South Africa: 6
  • Singapore: 6
  • New Zealand: 5
  • Japan: 5
  • Germany: 4
  • France: 3
  • Spain: 2

The Tourism Board is coordinating with relevant authorities to establish the whereabouts and status of those reported unaccounted for as search and rescue operations continue in the flood-affected areas.
