The government has announced a public holiday in the Kathmandu Valley on Sunday, June 1.
The Ministry of Home Affairs has granted the holiday in Kathmandu, Lalitpur, and Bhaktapur districts on the occasion of the “Bhoto Jatra,” the traditional ceremony of displaying the sacred vest of Rato Machhindranath.
The announcement was made by Ram Chandra Tiwari, Joint Secretary and spokesperson for the ministry.
