The CPN-UML has finalised the structure of the Central Committee to be formed through its 11th General Convention. The party’s closed-door session began at Bhrikutimandap in Kathmandu.
During the ongoing session, a proposal including amendments to the party statute is being tabled.
According to Rajendra Gautam, chief of the UML publicity department, it has been decided to present in the closed-door session hall a leadership structure comprising one chairperson, five vice-chairs, one general secretary, three deputy general secretaries, and nine secretaries.
He also informed that one-third of the Politburo members will form the Standing Committee. As per the proposal, the Politburo will have 99 members. The Central Committee has been expanded from 251 to 301 members.
