Kathmandu, September 20
President Bidya Devi Bhandari has granted pardons to 22 prisoners on the occasion of the fourth Constitution Day. The pardon was given to the prisoners in accordance with Article 276 of the Constitution of Nepal.
Similarly, President Bhandari, like the previous years, has also shortened the sentence of 260 prisoners in various jails across the country.
The 22 who have been given presidential pardon will also not have to pay fines for their crime. The prisoners have been released on the recommendation of the government taking their ‘good conduct’ into consideration on the occasion of the Constitution Day.
