Prakash Man Singh: I am ready for whatever it takes to reform Nepali Congress

Nepali Congress leader Prakash Man Singh speaks at a function in Kathmandu, on Monday, December 25, 2017.

Kathmandu, December 25

Nepali Congress leader Prakash Man Singh says  he is ready to do whatever it takes to reform the party and revive its strength from the recent historically weak poll performance.

He says the party faced the humiliating defeat in the parliamentary polls as his party’s President and incumbent Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba did not agree with him on announcement of the party’s PM candidate before the polls.

“I told him that there was no satisfaction from his leadership in the government and people supporting the party were not convinced,” Singh said while speaking at a function in Kathmandu today, “He asked me what he should do. I said that as Girijababu [Girija Prasad Koirala] forwarded Kisunji [Krishna Prasad Bhattarai], he should forward someone else.”

“But now, I will invest all my efforts to revive our old status as a very popular party,” Singh said, “I will do whatever it takes for that.”

He told intellectuals and experts to express their suggestions for the reform.
