India’s Ministry of External Affairs has said that an ‘informal’ meeting between heads of government of Nepal, China, and India was entirely coincidental, and it was just a ‘little chat’.

The ministry’s spokesperson Vikas Swarup, who was updating the media on the ongoing BRICS conference in Goa, said the informal meeting between the Prachanda, Modi and Xi was a result of coincidence.
Swarup said that after the bilateral between Nepal and China had ended, the two leaders were waiting in the lounge to go to the informal dinner, and Modi also happened to be there.
He said that the meeting was informal and there was no reason to call it a trilateral.
