Sinkhole disrupts traffic on Imadol road via Bojhepokhari

Kathmandu, August 14

A significant sinkhole has formed on the inner road leading to Imadol via Bojhepokhari in Mahalaxmi Municipality-3, Lalitpur, near Baklogaun Chowk, causing a complete disruption of vehicular movement.

The sinkhole,, measuring approximately 3 meters in diameter, has led to the blockage of traffic on this vital route, according to Lalitpur Police spokesperson, SP Naresh Raj Subedi. The exact cause of the road collapse has not yet been determined.

This incident follows a similar event in Kathmandu, where a two-lane road near the New Plaza building in Kamaladi collapsed on August 8, leading to a significant traffic disruption. The Road Department has indicated that it will take around three months to repair that road.

Local authorities are currently assessing the damage on the Imadol road and are expected to begin repair work soon to restore normal traffic flow. In the meantime, commuters are advised to use alternative routes.
