Post-quake reconstruction: Over 200 engineers have resigned so far

Kathmandu, March 22

Over 200 engineer employed by the National Reconstruction Authority have quit their job citing undue pressure to approve houses that do not meet quake safety guidelines.

According to NRA CEO Govinda Pokhrel, the total number of engineers who have tendered their resignation has crossed 200.

According to the authority’s spokesperson Bhisma Bhusal, the number of engineers leaving their job is increasing by the day.

The government had recently decided to provide officer-level perks to the engineers and up to 75 per cent incentive for good work. However, that has not stopped the engineers from quitting.
