Kathmandu, September 12

Kathmandu police have suppressed a protest organised by loan shark victims who have come to the capital from various districts in the southern plains demanding justice.

As the people started the demonstration in Kirtipur in southern Kathmandu today, the police baton-charged demonstrators to halt the event. The law enforcers also arrested around 60 demonstrators, according to a leader of the team.

Some protesters have also sustained injuries.

The demonstrators had a plan to march to Maitighar Mandala in central Kathmandu during the protest today. However, it has been foiled by the police.
