Kathmandu, November 17

Police on Sunday used force to contain a protest carried out by Nepali Congress student wing, Nepal Students Union, outside the Indian Embassy in Kathmandu. They also arrested some demonstrators.

The students loyal to the opposition party had gone outside the embassy carrying the national flag, black flags, black banners and placards, protesting the recently published political map of India, which allegedly shows the Nepali land of Kalapani as a part of India. During the demonstration, the cadres flew a black banner that shows the map of Nepal including Kalapani. The banner also has a text, “Look Modi! This is our map.”

Later, police arrested the demonstrators to end the protest.
