Design and display

POCO F5 is not similar in any way to the pro version, POCO F5 Pro. It is the rebranded version of Redmi Note 12 Turbo; only the branding and colour options are changed. It has a much flat design with a clean separated camera position much like Redmi Note 12 without the rectangular box around the cameras. The rings around the camera are patterned making it more aesthetic in terms of design.

There are there colour options available with different designs on the back. The white one might be many people’s favourite with the patterned snowflake-like design with a hint of blueish colour that starts at the bottom and slowly fades to the top as white, giving a premium look.

The remaining two colours are black and blue. The black colour has a striped design, which is similar to POCO F1’s black colour, the phone which started the F series. The blue colour is plain and smooth. The back is made up of plastic but has a glossy finish which catches fingerprint smudges very quickly.

On the front, it has a bezel similar to F5 Pro and a hole-punch camera cutout. It has a 6.67-inch FHD+ Flow AMOLED DotDisplay with a refresh rate of up to 120Hz and a touch sampling rate of 240Hz. With a brightness of 500 nits (typical) and a peak brightness of 1000 nits (HBM), it is good in direct sunlight too. The 5,000,000:1 contrast ratio, along with a resolution of 2400×1080, offers sharp details and vibrant colours whilst supporting DCI-P3 wide colour gamut and displaying 68 billion colours.
