Kathmandu, September 30
Regular flights at Tribhuvan International Airport were disrupted for half an hour on Monday as Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli returned from his visit to the United States.
According to airport sources, a “Notice to Airmen” (NOTAM) was issued from 3:55 PM for half an hour due to “VVIP movement,” halting all domestic and international departures. Incoming flights were put on hold until the Prime Minister’s aircraft landed.
Flight operations resumed to normal after the Prime Minister’s arrival. However, the airport had already been experiencing delays of up to an hour since the morning due to high traffic, and the VVIP movement further exacerbated the situation.
