PM orders security chiefs to make effective security arrangements

Kathmandu, April 18

Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal has directed chiefs of security bodies to make security arrangements effective for the upcoming local level elections.

Summoning Nepal Army Chief Rajendra Chhetri, Nepal Police Inspector General Prakash Aryal, Armed Police Inspector General Singha Bahadur Shrestha and National Investigation Department Chief Dilip Regmi at his Baluwatar-based residence today, the Prime Minister assured that the polls would be held on time.

The top officials were called to brief the Prime Minister about latest security situations.

The officials had told the Prime Minister that security situation across the nation was normal and the polls could be held in a free and fearless atmosphere.

They also informed that the agencies were prepared for the polls.
