Chitwan, April 17
Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli will visit Chitwan on Friday to inaugurate the newly expanded six-lane road from Gondrang to Pulchowk in Bharatpur. He will also inaugurate the administrative building of Ichhakamana Rural Municipality and inspect the Narayangadh-Butwal road section.
The road project, which spans 6.08 kilometers and meets Asian highway standards, was completed on January 12 at a cost of Rs 1.12 billion by Sagun Construction Pvt. Ltd. The project includes four central lanes and one service lane on each side, footpaths, underground power lines, smart lighting, and proper drainage systems.
This road was originally two lanes and has now been widened to include a median with greenery and street lighting, significantly improving both safety and aesthetics. Traffic signals are set to be installed soon.
The Prime Minister is also scheduled to inaugurate the second convention of the UML Bharatpur Metropolitan Committee at the auditorium of the local cancer hospital, and meet with representatives from Nawalpur during his visit.
