Paudel questions why Nepali Congress failed to seek PM’s resignation

Nepali Congress leader Ram Chandra Paudel among others during an event in Birgunj on Saturday, February 29, 2020.

Birgunj, March 1

Nepali Congress senior leader Ram Chandra Paudel has questioned the party leadership why it failed to raise strong voices against the current government amidst some serious controversies. He says the party should have asked Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli’s resignation after the controversies including that about former communications minister Gokul Baskota’s supposed commission negotiation were out.

Speaking at a meeting of the party leaders and cadres in Birgunj on Saturday, Paudel asked, “Why is the party turning weaker?” before he answered the leaders were prioritising their factions over the party.

Meanwhile, other leaders of the party also spoke about the lack of unity and participation and the leadership’s inefficiency within the party.

Cadres of the party who attended the event put forward their complaints regarding the lack of transparency and discipline within the party. They also complained that the party was not operating according to the mandate of its cadres and voters.
