Paudel camp continues to boycott NC CWC meeting

L-R: Ram Chandra Paudel and Sher Bahadur Deuba

Kathmandu, December 15

Leaders of the Nepali Congress who are close to the party’s senior leader Ram Chandra Paudel say they will boycott the party’s ongoing central working committee meeting on Sunday also.

Demanding that the meeting discusses and finalise a plan for the party’s 14th general convention, the camp has been boycotting the meeting since Thursday. Party president Sher Bahadur Deuba tried to woo Paudel by meeting him on Saturday, but he is not convinced saying the leadership has not yet brought any concrete proposal to address the demand.

The CWC meeting has been scheduled for 1 pm today.

In his efforts to take the leaders into confidence, Deuba sent his confidant Bimalendra Nidhi, also the vice-president of the party, to meet general secretary Shashanka Koirala this morning. Whereas the party spokesperson Bishwa Prakash Sharma says the meeting was positive, the pro-Paudel leaders including Koirala are prepared to boycott the meeting today also.
